If you own and drive a car, you need to have it insured. The challenge is understanding exactly what your auto insurance covers, how to handle a claim, and whether or not you are getting the best insurance coverage for your specific needs.
At Plum, we work to get to know our clients, so we can help you find the best coverage and help you make informed decisions about your auto insurance. We can help you acquire a wide range of personal insurance policies, including the following:
Accidents happen, and when they do, you’ll want the confidence that comes with understanding what is covered under your insurance.
Cover your ride as well as your expensive gear, and even get optional roadside assistance and medical coverage.
Protect your boat from bow to stern with a policy that covers the unique needs of your watercraft, whether it’s a sailboat, powerboat, houseboat, etc.
RVs and travel trailers can be your home away from home, so it’s just as important to make sure you protect your investment while traveling.
Protect company vehicles and cover employee drivers in the event of an accident. We can find coverage for any type of commercial vehicle.
When an accident involves another person or property damage, liability comes into play. This covers medical bills of other people involved in an accident, but it doesn’t cover the expenses for you or your passengers.
Collision covers damage to your vehicle if you are involved in an accident. Generally, collision protection doesn’t regard fault - if the accident involved another car or your car is in a single-car accident, collision is there to cover the repairs.
Comprehensive car insurance protects your vehicle damage that isn’t considered a collision, such as a natural disaster or vandalism. It’s not required by any state law, but drivers typically have to have it for leased or financed vehicles.
If an accident results in medical expenses for you and/or your passengers, PIP can assist in covering these costs. This is a requirement in many states, including New York, New Jersey, and Florida. PIP may also compensate you for things like lost income and child care expenses, and like health insurance, may have a deductible.
Similar to Personal Injury Protection, this tends to cover medical payments in the event of an accident, regardless of fault. Unlike PIP, it doesn’t cover things outside of medical bills, but it can provide additional coverage if medical bills exceed the limits of your PIP insurance.
If you are in an accident caused by an uninsured motorist or a driver who doesn’t have enough liability insurance to cover your expenses, this coverage is here to protect you. It’s required in about 20 states, including NY and Connecticut.
