Our Story is the Story of the American Dream
It all started in 1949 on the kitchen table of a very modest New York City apartment in The Bronx. Aaron Plum, a bright young man with a knack for helping people, noticed just how challenging it was to navigate the insurance industry.
Aaron was an attentive listener and a fast learner. In short order, he formed close relationships with his growing list of clients as well as the household-name insurance companies who stood behind the policies. He soon opened Aaron Plum, Inc. in a store-front office on East 170th Street, followed by another on the Grand Concourse, and an office on West 231st street, adjacent to the thriving commercial and residential Kingsbridge and Riverdale neighborhoods.
From the very beginning, Aaron, his wife Rhoda, and their team of dedicated insurance professionals vowed to never charge a client for advice, counsel, or service—something we proudly stick to even to this day.
A true family business, Aaron and Rhoda are succeeded by their daughter, Ellen Plum Rosenberg. Ellen has served as a senior insurance professional for over two decades, continuing on the tradition of an economical, sensible, low-pressure business model.

How We Are Compensated For Service To Our Clients
We are an insurance producer licensed by the State of New York, operating as Plum Insurance Agency LLC. That license authorizes us to discuss with clients and prospective clients insurance contracts and their benefits, terms and conditions. We are also authorized to provide advice about specific insurance contracts and their benefits, to sell insurance and to secure insurance for NYSIDbuyers. When we work with clients and prospective clients, there will typically be one or more of these activities taking place.
How we are paid depends on the insurance contract the customer buys, with such payment coming from the insurer or insurers providing the insurance contract, or by another third party, based on the insurer and the insurance contracts (policies) the purchaser selects. Our compensation will typically vary, determined by factors such as the insurance contracts or contract, and the insurer or insurers the buyer selects. Please note that our compensation is sometimes affected by the amount and profitability of business we provide to an insurer.
As a buyer of insurance, you are entitled to receive information about the compensation we expect to receive, based in whole or in part on the insurance sold to you.
